Our mission is to provide the North Texas community with the opportunity to experience rare, endangered and exotic wildlife in a unique and personal setting. What better way to learn about conservation than by seeing it up close and hands on?
Our facility sits on a beautiful 126 acre ranch and offers field trips, private tours, a walk-thru petting zoo, an outdoor dining areas and snack bar to help make Sharkarosa Zoo your next wild adventure!
Our facility is always growing! On a typical day Sharkarosa is home to 180+ animals. We are not by definition a “rescue” organization. However, we do assist with exotic animal rescues by lending experience, needed supplies or housing. Please see the Donations page to find out how you can help us with these ongoing projects.
Open to the Public Days are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday as long as the weather permits. All other events require an advanced reservation. Please browse our Visitor’s Guide for information on how to book a private tour, field trip or party.

Dear Guests…
The Sharkarosa Zoo was built to raise funds for the preservation of exotic wildlife and to work closely with charitable and educational groups.
The Zoo was also created to say Thank You to all the people throughout the years who believed in me and made this dream possible.
Especially, my family & those special friends whose loyalty and devotion helped me make it through the hard times.
No matter who you are, it’s the people who believe in you that make the difference.
So, my thank you to those special people is the Sharkarosa Zoo. I hope you enjoy it and what it stands for.
Thank you for your faith,
Scott Edwards

EXCELLENT Based on 1566 reviews Posted on Tricia Ann DoddsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was my 1st visit, I came with My son and his wife and my granddaughter for her 3rd Birthday. I loved feeding the camels, mini donkeys and mini cows as well as the llamas and goats. The black bear feeding was informative and enjoyable with the female bear pulling herself up and standing for a peppermint. It's a great little sanctuary/zoo. Be sure to stop by to see the Gorgeous white tiger! He is stunning. ✨Posted on BKBTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. One of the best places to visit with kids in north texas or Denton area . A lot of animals to see and feed. This is a fun place to visit and see some pretty big animals bears 🐻, tigers 🐅, lions 🦁, kangaroo 🦘. The zoo was clean and the animals seemed happy! We had such an amazing time and will definitely go againPosted on Kara FarraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on JoAnna MarezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the most amazing day at Sharakosa Zoo! From the moment we walked in, it was such a fun, educational, and memorable experience for me and the kids. We loved learning about all the animals, and the staff was wonderful especially the sweetest little girl on staff (she looked about 6!) who patiently answered all of our questions and made the kids feel so excited and welcome. 🥹💖 What made this visit extra special for me is the full-circle moment: I used to bring my daughter here when she was little, and now she’s 22 years old and we have my grand baby that is 4. Watching generations enjoy the same place together truly melted my heart. This zoo is full of love, learning, and special memories. We absolutely love this place and will 100% be coming back again and again!Posted on Daniel GagneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Exceptional experience!!! There were so many interesting animals, clean paths, and well-maintained areas. The children were thrilled — they especially enjoyed playground for kids. A perfect place for a family outing!Posted on LaurenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Months later and we keep coming back. We’ve learned a lot about the animals and some of their names. I still really love the staff and the effort they make to ensure you see or get to participate in their shows and feed times. It’s been a lot of fun. Even on these colder days we bundle up and go. Fun fact about lemurs is they love their armpits scratched so it’s extra cute when they run up to you and hold their arm up. ———————— I can’t believe we waited so long to check this zoo out. Staff was friendly and the whole zoo was well maintained. I loved the farm turned zoo feel and the information on rescues. Feeding zebras, llamas, camels, donkeys, and emus. If you’re there at open I’d advise waiting to see the goats until more people show up. Nobody wanted the treats as much as they did. It’s really worth checking out and you’ll probably want more feed than you realize.Posted on sindhu kTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing place with animal feeding and petting opportunities. Staff is friendly and do great animal shows.
